Streams Under Subclass 482:

This visa is divided into three streams, depending on the nature of the occupation and the employer agreement:

  1. Short-Term Stream
    For occupations listed on the Short-Term Skilled Occupation List (STSOL).

    • Stay duration: Up to 2 years (or 4 years if an international trade obligation applies).

    • Pathway to PR: Limited.

  2. Medium-Term Stream
    For occupations listed on the Medium and Long-Term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL).

    • Stay duration: Up to 4 years.

    • Pathway to Permanent Residency available via Subclass 186 (Employer Nomination Scheme) after 2–3 years.

  3. Labour Agreement Stream
    For workers sponsored under a Labour Agreement between an employer and the Australian Government.
