Streams Under Subclass 482:

This visa is divided into three streams, depending on the nature of the occupation and the employer agreement:

1. Short-Term Stream
   For occupations listed on the Short-Term Skilled Occupation List (STSOL).

   • Stay duration: Up to 2 years (or 4 years if an international trade obligation applies).

   • Pathway to PR: Limited.

2. Medium-Term Stream
   For occupations listed on the Medium and Long-Term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL).

   • Stay duration: Up to 4 years.

   • Pathway to Permanent Residency available via Subclass 186 (Employer Nomination Scheme) after 2–3 years.

3. Labour Agreement Stream
   For workers sponsored under a Labour Agreement between an employer and the Australian Government.

   • Custom terms based on agreement.

   • Suitable for niche skills not on general occupation lists.

Eligibility Requirements:

To qualify for the Subclass 482 visa, applicants must:

• Be nominated by an approved Australian employer

• Have an occupation on the relevant Skilled Occupation List

• Possess the skills, experience, and qualifications required for the role

• Demonstrate English language proficiency

• Meet health and character requirements

• Hold any mandatory licensing or registration applicable to the occupation
